Town Clerk Cindy Simon advises Newtown voters that special hours for absentee voting for the municipal election will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 9 am to noon, at the town clerk’s office in Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

The election will be held on Tuesday, November 8.

Any qualified voter may vote by absentee ballot if unable to vote in person due to illness or physical disability, absence from town during voting hours, religious beliefs that forbid secular activity, active US military service, or service as an election official at a polling place other than his/her own polling place.

The applications for absentee ballots also are available at the town clerk’s office and may be obtained in person at the office or by calling the office at 270-4210. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm.
