NHS Guest Speaker

Presentation Scheduled

Newtown High School student Kate Bartel has overseen organizing a guest speaker presentation for Tuesday, November 8, at 3 pm that is free and open to the public.

John Kamm, a human rights activist and founder and executive director of the Dui Hua Foundation, which focuses on the advancement of human rights internationally, will give a presentation called, “I Fell In Love With China.”

Mr Kamm was formerly president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and has advocated the release of hundreds of Chinese political prisoners over the years, which is what he will speak about at the event, among other aspects of his time in China, like learning Mandarin and more.

The presentation will be hosted by Newtown High School’s Global Voice, a human rights club. It will be held in the Lecture Hall of Newtown High. Snacks will be available during the event.
