Nov 5. Crafts Festival Still On

BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Historical Society’s 20th Annual Festival of Crafts will take place at Whisconier Middle School, on West Whisconier Road, from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, November 5. With so many power outages, the craft show — which was confirmed by organizers on Thursday, November 3 — the event will provide an opportunity for attendees to warm up at a fun place and shop to their hearts content choosing from a great selection of many handcrafted items. 

 “The crafts festival will feature a number of new exhibitors, many from the surrounding area,” promises Stacey Olszewski, the show’s coordinator. “In these trying economic times the mostly hand made crafts will provide the buyers with a unique opportunity to purchase, truly, one of a kind gifts, at reasonable prices.”

The Festival of Crafts,  with over 50 juried vendors, has grown to be one of the largest and most successful pre-holiday sales event of its kind throughout the northeast region of the state. Among the many item for sale this year are jewelry, decorative pieces, folk art, personal grooming articles, soaps, soft sculptures, clothing, baskets, handbags, candles, edible delicacies, wood crafts, pet items and more. There will also be a food court available for visitors to purchase soup, sandwiches, snacks and drinks so they can shop and feed the kids at the same time.
