Audubon Groups Offer Public Forum With Area Legislators

The Lillinonah Audubon Chapter (LAS) and the Bent of the River Audubon Center Stewardship Board have planned a reception with area legislators scheduled on Sunday, November 14. The event will provide an opportunity for local residents to meet the newly elected officials from the 11 towns that are part of the LAS western Connecticut area.

The officials will talk about regional environmental issues, they will hear questions and concerns from those present, and they plan to offer a preview of initiatives for the upcoming General Assembly.

This event will begin at 1 pm with an LAS Potluck Lunch at the Bent of the River education barn, which is located one half mile down a gravel road through the entrance parking area at 185 East Flat Hill Road in South Britain (Exit 14).

Visitors are invited to join other LAS chapter members and to bring a dish to share, as well as their own place setting (cup, plate, knife, fork, and spoon).  Drinks will be provided.

The newly elected officials will join in the festivities, and a question and answer period will take place at 2:30 pm.

Preregister by calling Carol Dicks at 203-264-6390. The public is invited and there is no admission charge.
