Red Raiders 4, Benchwarmers 3 â Jimmy Poe drilled a two-out, two-strike, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Red Raiders to the improbable win. Trailing 3-0, the Red Raidersâ Ryan Zitnay and Nick Wolf reached base and with one out an errant throw and an infield out recorded two runs before Poeâs hit scored Anthony Gruce with the tying run and Jack List with the game winner. Josh Baron, Mickey Fay and Anthony Csizmadia pitched well for the âWarmers, allowing only two hits through the first six innings. They were backed by the fine defensive play of Evan Barreto.

Newtown (#2) 9, Southbury 0 â Mike Chapin and Sam Paproski combined on a three-hitter, striking out 10 batters and leading Newtown to the win. Brian Pennarola and Jasper Ress had two hits each while Tom Selleck doubled.
Newtown (#2) 2, New Milford 0 â Mike Chapin fired a complete-game no-hitter, facing just one batter above the minimum. Chapin also tripled and drove in a run while Zack Kapple had a run-scoring single.
Newtown (#2) 14, Brookfield 13 â Mike Frattaroliâs two-out single in the last inning lifted Newtown to the win. Jon Kemph had a key double in the rally while Mike Chapin and Chris Elias both had three hits.

LRM Landscaping 8, Burton Builders 5 â Brooke Fell, Shelley Davies and Colleen Cunningham combined to lead LRM with a valiant pitching effort. Emily Bernson sparked the offense with a key hit in the third inning. For Burton, Lauren and Taylor Johnson combined to pitch three innings of solid ball as Sarah Ferris and Johnson had hits. In the field, Kelly Burton and Devon Miles combined on a force play at home plate.
