Norris H. Myers

Norris H. Myers, 88, husband of Dorothy (Russell) Myers of Tanglewood Lane, Sandy Hook, died October 31 in Danbury Hospital.

Mr Myers was born in New York City on May 14, 1916, a son of the late Raymond T. and Ella (Harlan) Myers. He served in the US Navy during World War II.

A resident of Sandy Hook since 1951, Mr Myers was employed as a locomotive engineer for the New Haven Railroad until his retirement in 1978.

Mr Myers was a member of the Newtown Congregational Church, Hiram Lodge #18 AF and AM, the VFW Post in Wallingford, and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Barbara M. Schenzer and her husband Dan of Sandy Hook, and Janet Lee Myers of Torrington; three grandsons; Daniel H. Schenzer of Quincy, Mass.; David B. Schenzer of New Fairfield; and Scott R. Schenzer of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Nancy Lee Coccia of Rockville, Md., and Phyllis A. Myers of Huntington Station, Long Island, N.Y.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Zoar Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street, Newtown CT 06470.

Arrangements by the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
