Help Prevent Suicide

Each day 90 Americans take their life. Research shows that 90 percent of all people who die by suicide have a diagnosable (but not always diagnosed) psychiatric disorder at the time of their death, most often depression. Suicidal behavior is the result of a medical condition. Families and friends are left behind to struggle with the loss and grief of their loved ones.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention sponsors National Survivors of Suicide Day. This event will be held on November 21 and provides an opportunity for the survivor community to come together for support, healing, information, and empowerment.
