To the Editor:

I want to thank everyone who expressed confidence in me with their vote on Tuesday.  I will do my best to live up to their expectations.  Thank you as well to all the voters who took the time to exercise one of the most precious rights in a free, democratic society, the right to vote.

Congratulations to all of the candidates, Democrats, Republicans and unaffiliated, who were elected on Tuesday, thank you for your willingness to serve our great town.  Thank you as well to the candi-dates who took the risk of offering themselves to the voters for election, but were not successful this time.  Our town needs good people to offer to serve, there will be other opportunities, so don’t give up.

Special thanks for their service to those who were running for reelection, but were not successful this time, especially my friend Jim Filan.  I have been in their shoes.

Thanks as well to the Democratic Town Committee for endorsing and supporting a great group of candidates, registered Democrats, Republicans and unaffiliated voters who were unified on the Democ-ratic Party Team this year.

Last but not least, thank you to my friend Will Rodgers, I was not running against him, but was run-ning to serve with him and look forward to doing so when I join Will on the Board of Selectmen.

Best regards,

Herb Rosenthal
