Explore Fresh Approach To Seasonal Garden Care, Next Town & Country Garden Club Meeting
As unpredictable weather patterns bring new challenges to gardeners, it may be time to rethink traditional approaches to fall garden cleanup and spring preparation.
Town and Country Garden Club invites readers to attend “Seasonal Garden Care: Time for a Fresh Approach,” a presentation by Michele MacKinnon on Wednesday, November 11, at 7 pm, at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street.
From heat waves and droughts to torrential downpours and unusually warm winter temperatures, today’s changing climate can have a significant impact on gardens. MacKinnon will explore how gardeners can adapt their practices to meet these challenges and create healthier, more resilient landscapes. Attendees will discover new approaches to seasonal garden care and learn practical methods to prepare their gardens for whatever Mother Nature brings.
MacKinnon is a UConn advanced master gardener and a Connecticut Chapter NOFA accredited organic land care professional. Combining her background in corporate training with her passion for gardening, she founded Garden Advice, a business offering garden coaching to area clients and educational presentations for garden clubs and community organizations.
She also serves on the Conservation Commission in Sherman, Connecticut. Her work emphasizes regenerative soil practices and pollinator- and wildlife-friendly gardening methods.
The presentation is free, and all are welcome.
