The People’s Park

To the Editor:

What??!!

Give up our wonderful high meadow open space where so many of us enjoy the sublime views and opportunity for peaceful, passive recreation?

Let the military go in there and scrape bare the hillside? Let them put down roads, erect their chain link fences, concrete buildings, signs and barriers?

Lock the High Meadow away from all Newtown residents, many of whom already consider this place to be their own People’s Park?

Impossible.

This is where I lie down in front of the bulldozers — if it ever comes to that. God forbid.
