Many local office and businesses will be closed in observance of Veterans Day, a federal holiday, on Wednesday, November 11.

All town offices will be closed on Wednesday.

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library will also be closed on Wednesday.

The transfer station at the former landfill on Ethan Allen Road will be closed.

Veterans Day is a postal holiday, so there will be no mail delivery, and USPS offices will be closed for the day.

The office of The Newtown Bee will be open.

VFW Post 308 Commander Paul Galietti confirmed last week that the local Post will host a brief ceremony at 11 am. The event will be outdoors, and facemasks are requested.
