To the Editor:

The Newtown Police Department is very proud of its members who not only serve our community with distinction every day, but have made tremendous personal sacrifices to our Nation as well.

Earlier this week, six flags were placed at the base of our flagpole for each of the branches of the United States Military: ARMY, NAVY, AIR FORCE, MARINES, COAST GUARD, SPACE FORCE.

The flags are also to honor and thank the members of the Newtown Police Department who have served our Country in the Military.

We treasure our veterans, as a Department and as a community:
