Mr and Mrs Blair William Brown

Heather Michelle Wood and Blair William Brown were married on October 2 at the Cathedral-Basilica of St Augustine in St Augustine, Fla., with the Rev Christopher Liguori officiating.

The bride is the daughter of David and Edie Wood of Gainesville, Fla., formerly of Newtown.

The groom is the son of Alan and Beth Brown of Woodbridge, Va.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a traditional white satin strapless gown with crystal and pearl beaded bodice and train. A cathedral length veil and pearl and crystal tiara complemented the gown. She carried a bouquet of Charlotte red roses accented with stephanotis and pearls.

The maid of honor was Christina Wood, the bride’s sister, of Gainesville, Fla. She carried a bouquet of Porcelina spray roses, Latin Ambiance roses with Italian ruscus, and a piece of the bride’s great-grandmother’s handmade lace was intertwined with the roses.

The bridesmaids were Andrea Belfanti of Atlanta, Ga., Catie Slye of Alexandria, Va., Teresa Brown of Richmond, Va., Lindsay Brown of Byram, N.J., and Sheri Blue of Gainesville, Va.

The attendants wore berry-colored two-piece satin strapless gowns with shirred bodice accented with rhinestone buttons. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of Latin Ambiance roses with Italian ruscus.

The bride’s cousin, Olivia Ioppolo of Orlando, Fla., was the flower girl.

The groom’s brother, Justin Brown of Richmond, Va., was the best man.

The groomsmen were Eric Minkove and Geoff Robison of Arlington, Va., Andrew Dillon of Ithaca, N.Y., Alex Cogswell of Philadelphia, Penn., and Russell Lord of New York, N.Y.

Christian Cabrera of Washington, D.C., Jason Kennedy of Alexandria, Va., and Brice Owens of Woodbridge, Va. were ushers.

Trey Ioppolo of Orlando, Fla., the bride’s cousin, was ring bearer.

A reception followed the ceremony at the historic Casa Monica Hotel in St Augustine.

The bride graduated from Newtown High School and James Madison University. She is a meeting planner for the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) in Charlottesville, Va.

The groom graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in Woodbridge, Va., and earned his undergraduate degree at James Madison University and his master’s degree at the University of Virginia. He is a doctoral student in higher education administration at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.

Following a wedding trip to Oahu, Hawaii, and Las Vegas, the couple is residing at Lake Monticello, Va.
