Naugatuck Valley Accepting Applications
For Nursing Program
WATERBURY â Naugatuck Valley Community College is accepting applications through January 15 for entrance into its nursing program in fall 2005.
Students planning to apply to the program must take the National League for Nursing Pre-Admission Test. The test will be offered on campus on January 6. Candidates for the program must register for the test by December 6. There is a $30 nonrefundable fee for the test.
To be eligible for the nursing program, students must have completed the following courses within the last five years, with a minimum grade of C: intermediate algebra, anatomy, and physiology I and II, and chemistry with a laboratory component. Prospective students who have not yet completed necessary prerequisites may contact an admissions counselor to discuss registering for the courses needed to prepare for entrance into the nursing program.
Graduates of Naugatuck Valleyâs two-year RN program earn 30 credits in nursing and 30 credits in general education. The credits are transferable toward the requirements for a bachelorâs degree in nursing at Connecticut colleges and universities.
Applications for the preadmission test and additional information concerning testing can be obtained by calling Beverly Niwinski at 203-596-8746. Applications are also available on the college website at www.nvcc.commnet.edu.
