To Conduct Antiques Sale
NEW HAVEN â The 24th Annual Antique & Collectibles Sale to benefit the South Central Connecticut chapter of the American Red Cross will present a feast of treasures donated by area connoisseurs of the arts on Saturday, November 20, and Sunday, November 21, at the Red Cross chapter house.
The event draws bargain hunters and dealers alike.
During the year before the sale, the Red Cross receives donations of a wide range of items including art glass, brass, holiday items, china, clocks, costume and antique jewelry, pewter, paintings, antique prints, fine silver, toys and more. Many are contributions from private donors who are settling estates, moving or just cleaning attics. Besides small bargains, the range of items includes big ticket pieces as well as genuine rarities.
This yearâs event includes some special items, including a brass and iron bed, Murano glass, a cut glass punchbowl set, a hand woven signed paisley Victorian slipper chair, many prints and artwork, and a dropleaf table.
All proceeds support services for the local disaster relief fund of the Red Cross.
Hours are 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, and from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday. The Chapter house is at 703 Whitney Avenue; call 203-787-6721.
