Toll Brothers Toll For We
Toll Brothers Toll For We
To the Editor:
The Toll Brothers bid to build 104 condominium units on Walnut Tree Hill Road threatens every home in Newtown. If Toll Brothers can persuade Planning & Zoning to strip residential zoning protections from the people who live in that established community then whose home is safe?
What will stop developers from bulldozing similar neighborhoods on, say, Boggs Hill, or Taunton Hill, or Poverty Hollow, or Hanover, or Brushy Hill?
Residential zoning protects peoplesâ residences from self-serving developers, be they our home-grown variety, or, as I fear we will see more and more of, deep-pockets out-of-town corporations that will zero in on irresolute local governments like pit bulls savaging kittens.
P&Z must send a strong, clear signal now: one-, two-, three-, and four-acre zoning will stand firm to protect Newtownâs homes.
