Members of Newtown Interfaith Council are planning an interfaith Thanksgiving gathering.

Newtown United Methodist Church will host this year’s event, which is scheduled for Sunday, November 21, at 5 pm. Organizers are planning to present this year’s service in person, with a livestream option also offered.

Last year’s service was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The November 21 gathering will include some music, readings, and speaking. Its theme will be “Love Has A Home Here.”

The council will continue to monitor CDC suggestions before finalizing plans for music, as well as facemask guidelines for those who attend in person.

As in years past, the interfaith event will include an offering for FAITH Food Pantry.

For those who prefer to participate from home or another remote location, the Zoom link is https://us02web.zoom.us. NUMC Pastor Lori Miller said this week that the event will also be livestreamed through the church’s Facebook page.

Reservations are not needed, but additional information is available by calling the Methodist Church office at 203-426-9998.
