Out In The Cold

To the Editor:

It has to be apparent to all the Newtowners who commute each day from the railroad station in Bethel, that the station is closed; that there are no warm havens to sit in while we wait for the train; that there are no toilet facilities, let alone benches or any protection against the snow or rain in the event that as little as a breeze is blowing.

What is less apparent is that we don’t seem to know what to do about it. In my case, I have called the office of the First Selectwoman in Bethel; written recently to Ruby Johnson; asked Herb Rosenthal to intercede; and even asked The Newtown Bee to get involved. That much has been done. If anyone else affected by the closure has another idea, please express it. I’ll stand right next to you!
