Truckers Receive Over $4,000 in Fines
On November 10, from 6 am to 2 pm, town and state police positioned themselves along Route 25 to inspect commercial truck traffic, resulting in the issuance of more than $4,000 in fines.
During the project, 43 trucks were inspected, 15 of which were weighed on portable scales, police said. Four trucks were found to be overweight.
Twenty-one tickets were issued to truckers, bearing a total of 27 motor vehicle charges, police said.
 Police said they took five trucks off the road for violations that must be corrected. Police issued $4,091 in fines.
 Town police overtime funds for the inspection project were provided through a state law enforcement grant.
