Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue firefighters put out a car fire that occurred around 3:15 pm Sunday, November 12. A male driver escaped injury last Sunday afternoon after the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder he was operating caught on fire. The unidentified male lost control of the four-door hatchback vehicle while navigating the curve from Totem Trail onto Quail Trail in Sandy Hook. The car went off the road, became stuck in wet leaves and brush, and a fire eventually started. The driver was uninjured. Newtown Hook & Ladder was also dispatched, but the fire was out before their arrival. Additional information was unavailable as this week’s paper went to press. —Bee Photo, Hicks
