Produce For The Pantry

To the Editor:

On behalf of all the volunteers at the FAITH Food Pantry, I would like to extend a very warm “thank you” to Jim and Suzanne Shortt for their generous donation of fresh produce to the food pantry during this past summer.  Thanks to Shortt Farm, Newtown residents visiting the food pantry were able to supplement their food packages with fresh corn, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and other surplus vegetables.

Jim and Suzanne, you’ve helped define what “community” really means here in Newtown. Thanks to individuals and groups like you, we can help alleviate some of the challenges that many face during times of temporary crisis, such as the loss of a job, illness, or divorce.
