Robert E.   Munger

Robert E. Munger, 83, of 68 Reservoir Street, C1, Holden, Mass., died November 13 at University of Massachusetts Memorial Hospital, Worcester, Mass.

He was born in New Haven and lived in Newtown for many years.

While in Newtown, he was active in the Rotary Club where he was a Paul Harris Fellow, on the Town Hall Board of Managers, and the Newtown Scholarship Association. He was president of AFS, on the Boy Scout Council, and a member of the Congregational Church.

He will be buried in the Newtown Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in aeronautical engineering and served as a captain with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He ran his own business until retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Sophie (Taggart) of 62 years; a daughter-in-law, Peggy; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by both his sons.
