State Police Investigate Garner Incident

State police report that two correction officers were injured by an inmate at Garner Correctional Institution on Nunnawauk Road on the night of November 19, while those correction officers  were restraining that inmate.

State police said that inmate Nelson Morales, 38, injured officers Joseph Chicano and Francisco Cuevas.

Morales is an unsentenced inmate who is being held at Garner on $400,000 bail in connection with criminal charges, according to the state Department of Correction.

State police were investigating the November 19 incident.
