“Survivors, Responders, Volunteers, Officials Gather To Open Sandy Hook Memorial,” by John Voket, published November 20. Approximately 200 people including dozens of immediate survivors of those killed on 12/14 came together on the site of a newly opened Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial for a brief, reverent invitation-only ceremony November 12, a day ahead of the memorial’s public opening. Booth Library took place on a 30-degree Thanksgiving morning and there were 974 finishers who earned their extra stuffing in the 5K, which started and finished at Newtown Middle School.
