Road Race Kickoff Set For Dec. 3

A logo contest is being held from November 22 to January 20 for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade for the 2006 Newtown Road Race to benefit Newtown Youth Services (NYS).

All are welcome to attend the 2006 Newtown Road Race kickoff meeting to take place on Saturday, December 3, from 9 to 10 am, at the Edmond Town Hall, Old Court Room. The logo contest is an activity designed to get children interested in the road race, which will take place on Saturday, September 2.

Designs submitted to the logo contest should include the following: 2006, Newtown Road Race, 5K, and Kids Run. Each must be submitted on an 8½-by-11-inch paper to NYS at 10 Glen Road, Sandy Hook CT 06482 or fax to 426-0572. Please include full name and phone number on each submission.

Melania Fitzgerald and Ian Bliven are co-chairman of the road race.

The prize will be a sweatshirt with the winning design, plus $25, and recognition at the 2006 Newtown Road Race. Judging will be by the 2006 Newtown Race Committee at NYS.

Any individual, family, or business that wants to sponsor or donate to the 2006 Newtown Road Race should send checks made payable to Newtown Youth Services, Memo: Road Race to 10 Glen Road, Sandy Hook 06482.
