Three Charges

Police said Sarah Lewis, 24, of 4 Shepaug Road took a relative’s motor vehicle without permission on November 29. After Lewis returned home with the vehicle, police charged her with use of a motor vehicle without the owner’s permission, possession of narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they found the drug items during a search. Lewis was scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges, police said.

Five MV Violations

Police report that after an investigation on November 27, they charged a Danbury man with five motor vehicle violations.

Police said they charged Rafael Mendes-Neto, 23, with failure to display a marker plate, driving without automotive insurance, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving without a license, and misuse of marker plates.

After posting $500 bail, police released Mendes-Neto for a December 13 court appearance.

DUI Arrest

Police report they received complaints that a motorist was driving erratically on local roads at about 3:40 pm November 29, so they investigated.

Motorist Gerald Maugeri, 56, of Monroe struck a utility pole on Toddy Hill Road, but then kept driving, police said. After searching, police located Maugeri driving on Church Hill Road, where they stopped him to investigate.

After failing field sobriety tests, police arrested Maugeri on charges of driving under the influence and evading responsibility. After posting $250 bail, police released Maugeri for a December 13 court appearance.
