Children’s Author Visits Newtown

Children’s author Stephen Swinburne traveled to Newtown this week from his Vermont home to speak to students at both Hawley Elementary School and Head O’ Meadow School on Monday, November 28.

He visited Hawley in the morning and Head O’ Meadow in the afternoon. Along with discussing his books and the process of writing, Mr Swinburne also oversaw writing classes at Head O’ Meadow on Tuesday, November 29.

With a slideshow, Mr Swinburne showed students at both Hawley and Head O’ Meadow illustrations from some of his 25-plus children’s books. He also discussed his time spent as a ranger at a number of national parks.
