CCS ‘Fanfares’ Will Continue 25th Anniversary Season

DANBURY — The Connecticut Choral Society (CCS), which is celebrating its 25th anniversary season, will perform its holiday concert, “Fanfares,” on Sunday, December 12, at First Congregational Church.

The concert will begin at 4 pm. The church is at 164 Deer Hill Avenue, off West Street.

A pre-concert talk will begin 30 minutes before the performance.

The program will feature fanfares and concerted works for multiple combinations of brass and vocal choirs positioned in various sections of the sanctuary. Works by Rutter, Bruckner, Dello Joio, Gabrieli and Liesring as well as traditional carols will be performed.

Special guests will be the Shepaug High School Chorus and its director Christopher Shay, who was also the founder of CCS.

Attendees will be welcome to a post-concert reception, with the opportunity to meet the performers.
