St Joseph High School Honors Community Leaders

Richard A. Bishop, president of St Joseph High School in Trumbull, and a Newtown resident, served as an award presenter at the November 6 St Joseph High School Alumni Council’s Sr Catherine Fanning Award dinner held at the Trumbull Marriott Grand Ballroom.

The dinner honored five special people to the school community. Mr Bishop presented the Spiritual Award to the Marist Brothers, one of the founding religious orders of St Joseph High School. Other awards presented included the Community Award to Mr and Mrs Michael J. Leone for their service to many area communities; the Dedication Award to retired longtime faculty member Thomas J. Roach; and the Leadership Award to Ronald F. Carapezzi, serving in a corporate leadership role at GE. He is a 1976 St Joseph High School graduate.

All $50,000 collected in proceeds from the black-tie event went to endowed scholarships to provide tuition assistance to deserving St Joseph High School students.
