Tori Anderton canned 28 points, grabbed seven rebounds and made off with six steals as Alpine Realty defeated Colorgraphics, 74-60, in Newtown Women’s Basketball League action Tuesday night at The Gym at Newtown.

Alpine improved to 4-1, but remains a game behind Denmo’s, which improved to 5-0 with a 75-57 win over The Gym at Newtown.

Alpine Realty 74, Colorgraphics 60 – Tori Anderton poured in 28 points to lead Alpine Realty to the win. Anderton also grabbed seven boards, made six steals, and blocked a shot. Shelby Neveriski popped in 24 points while Kelly Fegler added 14 points and three blocks. For Colorgraphics, Maura Keenan torched the nylon for 29 points and added nine rebounds, a pair of blocks, three steals and three assists. Karen Powell, Denise Passano and Colleen Ruiz combined for 25 points.

Denmo’s 75, The Gym at Newtown 57 – Katie Abromovitch poured in 40 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as Denmo’s remained unbeaten with a 75-57 win over The Gym. Holly Ferguson canned 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds along the way while Caroline Ward dropped in 15 points and grabbed three boards. Laura Cook, Stephanie Trolle and Denise Brough played well.

Walsh Logging over Newtown Mobil – Walsh earned a forfeit win.

Denmo’s 58, Newtown Mobil 56 – Holly Ferguson scored 20 points and Katie Abromovitch added 15 more to lead Denmo’s to the narrow win. Denise Brough and Jody Rajcula combined for 17 points. For Newtown Mobil, Amy Proulx canned 23 points (hitting a record five three-pointers) while Lynn Lattanzio and Karen Katrinak popped in 15 points apiece. Laurie Bain contributed five points.

Walsh Logging 49, Colorgraphics 45 – Jennifer Zdziarski and Joanne Duncanson combined for 33 points to lift Walsh Logging to the win. Lisa Schang added 12 points while Barbara Bieber chipped in with four. For Colorgraphics, three players scored in double figures: Colleen Ruiz (12), Maura Keenan (11) and Michelle Smith (10). Karen Powell and Denise Passano combined for 12 points.

Alpine Realty 72, The Gym at Newtown 51 – Kelly Fegler scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as Alpine Realty cruised to the win. Shelby Neveriski added 21 points while Tori Anderton chipped in with 18 points, six rebounds and three steals. Sherri Baggett added six points while Laurie Miller contributed four points, three steals and nine rebounds. For The Gym, Carolyn Signorelli had 16 points as Jennifer Thomas added 12 points and 12 rebounds. Janet Duffy contributed 10 points as Mel Darrah and Carolyn Schreiber combined for 13 points and 10 rebounds.
