St Joseph High School Honors Local Luminaries

Newtown resident Richard A. Bishop, president of St Joseph High School in Trumbull, participated in the recent Sr Catherine Fanning Privilege & Responsibility Award Dinner held at the Trumbull Marriott. The St Joseph High School Alumni Council presented the honor to five very special people.

Trumbull First Selectman Raymond G. Baldwin, Jr, a 1966 graduate of St Joseph, received the Leadership Award. Retired Vice Principal Joan M. Caliendo accepted the Dedication Award; Richard Dalling, owner of the Stratford-based Dalling Construction Company, and his wife accepted the Community Award; and the School Sisters of Notre Dame received the Spiritual Award, accepted by Sr Ann Marie Dorff of St Catherine of Siena in Trumbull.

Also attending were Most Reverend Bishop William E. Lori of Bridgeport and Chancellor of the Bridgeport Diocese, Nancy Matthews. Ms Matthews is a 1974 graduate of St. Joseph High School.

The event raised $40,000 for endowed scholarship funds.
