Rotary Club Is Ready To Serve Up Pancakes

The Newtown Rotary Club will be serving its annual Pancake Breakfast in the Alexandria Room at Edmond Town Hall on Saturday, December 6, from 8 am to 1 pm.

Ticket prices for this All-You-Can-Eat fundraiser are $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under.

“This is the 48th year in a row that the Rotary Club has sponsored this event,” said Rotary Club President Alan Clavette. “Coming to Pancake Day has become an important holiday tradition for many people in Newtown, and this year’s event will be even more significant as Rotary will be the first to use the new, updated kitchen in the Alexandria Room.”

This year’s event will also include, once again, the Amber Alert ID card program. With the assistance of the Danbury Rotary Club, the Newtown Rotary Club will be making Amber ID cards available to all parents who bring their children to the event.

New this year will be some live entertainment thanks to the chorus from The Fraser-Woods School, who will perform during the event.

Mr Clavette is also requesting that anyone who attends the breakfast bring along a nonperishable food item that will be donated to FAITH Food Pantry.

“It’s an unfortunate fact that there are a growing number of people who are unable to feed their families due to the current state of the economy,” he said. “We hope that the food donations will help these families survive.”
