To the Editor:The Newtown Bee staff who featured us in articles about our workshops and our sale.

The Garden Club of Newtown would like to thank all our friends and neighbors who came to our annual Holiday Greens Sale fundraiser held at the Newtown Meeting House this past Saturday morning. We were blessed with a sun-filled morning that captured the happiness of the event and the beauty of the wreaths and decorations handmade by members of the club. Holiday spirit was also generated by the presence of our generous neighbor and book author, Sydney Eddison.

We would like to thank Sherri Paisley, manager of the Newtown Meeting House, Caraluzzi's Market for providing us with materials for the workshops, and

The Garden Club uses the funds generated by this sale to support local projects such as the Victory Garden, which grows healthy produce very much appreciated by our neighbors who rely on the food pantries to supplement their diets. The funds also help sustain the historical Curtiss House dooryard garden, Barb's Trail garden, the Veterans Blue Star Memorial garden, and the Protect Our Pollinators conservation initiative. Other beneficiaries are the Newtown Fund, the Scholarship Association, and the Newtown Forest Association.

Lastly, we must thank the individual club members who spend their own time searching for natural materials and decorative items to embellish their creations. Without them, and Newtown's support, the holidays would not seem the same.

Sincerely yours,

Mary Thomas
