Learn Your Rights At FOI Info Session

On Tuesday, November 12, Tom Hennick, the Public Education Officer at the state Freedom of Information (FOI) Commission, will conduct a public informational session on the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act.

The presentation will be in the Council Chambers of Newtown Municipal Center, 3 Primrose Street, beginning at 7 pm.

Directed toward educating citizens and public officers regarding their rights and obligations under the FOI Act, the session will feature a review of basic principles, such as the definition of public records and what kind of information is obligated to be disclosed to the public.

All interested citizens are invited to attend. Recently elected officials are being encouraged to attend.
