Alice (McLaughlin) Strain

Alice Strain, 64, of Shelton, formerly of Stamford, died December 12 at Griffin Hospital, Derby, due to pulmonary blood clot.

She was the mother of Brenda Pulver of Newtown.

Born in Stamford on November 22, 1936, she was the daughter of the late James F. and Alice (Ryan) McLaughlin. She was a Stamford resident most of her life.

She was an employee of Holson and Company of Norwalk.

Survivors include a brother, James D. McLaughlin of Stamford; a son, Roger Bergeron of Shelton; seven grandchildren; and three nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by her husband, John Strain, and a sister, Marie Strain.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 15, at 7 pm at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 pm. Interment will be private.
