Dolls And Their Houses At Minor Library
ROXBURY â A reception to launch an exhibit of dolls and dollhouses from the collections of Roxbury residents will be held at Roxburyâs Minor Memorial Library on Saturday, December 18, from 2 to 4 pm. The exhibit will run until January 5, and be on display in the libraryâs Community Studio during regular library hours.
Organized by The Friends of the Roxbury Library, the unique exhibit of dolls will range from antique 19th Century dolls from private collections of Roxbury families who have lived in the area for generations to more recent items such as Raggedy Anns and porcelain figures.
The dollhouses in the exhibit will feature some that are handmade from the 1930s including a reproduction of a New York brownstone from 1938. Admission to the exhibit and the opening reception is free of charge. The library is at 23 South Street and can be reached by calling 860/350-2181.
