Occupation: I am the owner of Indigo Jane Boutique.

Family: I’ve been married to my husband, Chris, for 31 years. We have three daughters. Our oldest, Cassie, is an ER nurse and is recently married to Dan. They live in Charlotte, N.C. Kate is our middle daughter. She works remotely in Cyber Security and lives in Brooklyn, N.Y. Our youngest, Kiersten, is a sophomore studying forensic science at the University of New Haven.

Pets: We have a dog, Maggie, who is 2 years old and a Ragdoll cat named Lola.

How long have you lived in Newtown? Twenty-four years this past November.

What do you like to do in your free time? These days I don’t have much free time, but when I do I like to spend time with family or friends, work on one of my needlecraft projects, bake, or read.

What is your favorite book? I don’t really have a favorite, but I do love Amor Towles’ books. I just love his writing style and his book A Gentleman in Moscow is one of my favorites.

What is your favorite travel destination? Any place that I’ve never been to. I love to go to a destination I’ve not yet been to explore something new when given the opportunity. Based on places I’ve been I would say anywhere in Italy would be a close second.

What is the best part about Newtown? Hands down it’s the people and wonderful sense of community we have in this great town.

What organizations are you part of in Newtown? I’m currently a commissioner on the Economic Development Commission of Newtown.

Who or what has been the greatest influence in your life? There have been many influencers in my life. My husband probably ranks at the top of my list as he is one of the most optimistic, upbeat, and positive persons I have ever met. He taught me to take chances.

Who is your favorite musical artist? I usually listen to a mix of 70s and jazz instrumentalists/vocalists. Given I’m originally from Rochester, N.Y., I was a fan of Chuck Mangione from his early years and he’s definitely near the top for me.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? I’ve had a lot of great advice from the people I admire, but more recently I would say the advice I took to heart was “The biggest regrets in life aren’t usually things we’ve done, but rather they are things we wanted to do, but never did.”

What is something you cannot live without? My family and any type of cheese.

What is your proudest accomplishment? Opening my boutique as it’s been a dream for some time and it took some hard work, determination, and courage to go from my dream to reality.
