Soccer Player Meisel Selected To First Team

Waterville, Maine-based Colby College junior midfielder Andrew Meisel, of Newtown, earned All-New England North First Team honors, as selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Meisel had already been named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference Second Team.

He was second on the Mules in scoring with three goals and four assists for ten points in leading Colby to a 7-7-1 record and a third straight trip to the conference playoffs. Colby had never been to the league playoffs before Meisel’s arrival, but has made it in his first three years with the team.

Meisel heads into his senior year with seven goals and 12 assists for 26 career points. He was two-for-two on penalty kicks this past season and had two game-winning goals.
