Energy Web Site For Consumers
HARTFORD, CONN. â In another effort to give consumers information they need on home heating fuel this winter, Lt Governor M. Jodi Rell and Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner James Fleming announced a new Web site for Connecticut consumers to shop for energy prices, prepare for cold weather, and cut their energy costs.
The energy information site, www.state.ct.us/dep/energy, provides energy users with price surveys on home heating oil and propane, conservation tips for the winter, and guidance on considering a fixed contract for heating oil.
âWhen it comes to purchasing home heating fuel, all buyers need to beware. This new Web site will give Connecticut consumers a close look at all of the options available for the heating season,â Lt Governor Rell said.
The new state Web site provides links to other related Internet sites such as the US Department of Energy, the state Department of Public Utility Control, and the International Institute for Energy.
âThe dropping temperatures are a chilly reminder that we need to keep our homes warm,â Commissioner Fleming said. âThis new energy information Web site is another tool that Connecticut consumers can use to decrease their energy costs and usage this winter.â
The Web site also provides information about and links to various energy assistance programs, including the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program, the State Appropriated Fuel Assistance Program, and Operation Fuel.
