Freedom Bound
Freedom Bound
By Libby Feltch
Better than Broadway, the fourth gradersâ opening play Freedom Bound was a hit. Sam Morrison, a member of the chorus, said the play was all about immigration and the difficult travels over the sea to America.
Immigrants in the play showed the determination, hard work, and care of the family that made this country what it is now. The parents should be proud of all the actresses, actors, and the chorus people for their fine interpretation of history.

Meet Jake Devellis, chorus singer for the fourth grade play Freedom Bound, and student of Mr Washicko at Head Oâ Meadow School. Jake has performed in three other school performances. His favorite part about his role is singing, especially the song âMelting Pot,â and does not find his role challenging. Each practice was about one hour to an hour and 15 minutes and out of 13 or 14 practices, Jake missed one.
The play turned out to be a great success. It was about immigrants who traveled to America looking for freedom. The plot and acting were creative and skilled, and the songs were sung wonderfully. You could tell a lot of hard work went into it, and it really paid off.
