Auralia âGoldieâ Velky, 87, wife of the late Andrew Velky, of 37 Appleblossom Lane, Newtown, died December 24 in Ashlar of Newtown.
She was born in Bridgeport October 7, 1913, daughter of the late Alexander and Sylvia (Ritz) Getyina.
A resident of Newtown for many years, she was employed as a quality control inspector at Valve Corp of America in Bridgeport for many years, retiring in 1978.
She is survived by two daughters, Audrey and her husband, Lawrence Flynn, of Sandy Hook, and Noreen Velky of Newtown; two grandchildren, Laureen Montoni of Naugatuck and William Flynn of Danbury; two great-grandchildren, Amand and Theresa Montoni; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, and at St Rose Church for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment was in Resurrection Cemetery.
