An 'Adventure' With The Claus Family
An âAdventureâ With The Claus Family
By Larissa Lytwyn
Just before Christmas, the Childrenâs Adventure Center visited the Senior Center to spend time with members and special guests Santa, Mrs Claus, and two elfin friends.
Donning handmade angel, reindeer, and snowman hats, the tots approached Santa with varying enthusiasm; some pressed eager palms into Santaâs bountiful whiskers while others slipped shyly away.
Senior Center members shared punch and red-and-green sprinkled cookies with their pint-sized neighbors, as well as their neighborsâ teachers and families.
âItâs become a tradition. We usually do it every year, though last year was the first time [in a few] that we did it,â said Senior Center Director Marilyn Place.
Senior Center members volunteered to become the immortalized Christmas characters.
Members also helped âdeck the hallsâ with all the trimmings, including a six-foot-tall holiday tree, giant snowflake ornaments, and generous swaths of garland.
