Auditions, by appointment, will take place at the Music Theatre of Connecticut, 246 Post Road East in Westport, on Sunday, January 4, Tuesday, January 6, and Wednesday, January 7, from 7 to 9 pm each evening. Actors are asked to prepare a short comic monologue and an a capella song for their audition.
Cootie Shots is a compilation of scenes, poems and songs which help to develop tolerance and understanding. With a traveling set, and geared toward school age children in grades 1-8, the show will tour for four weeks during spring 2004.
Its numerous writers range from MacArthur Foundation âgenius-awardâ-winner Luis Alfaro and Pulitzer Prize-winner Tony Kushner to 500 other artists, youth, parents and teachers.
The Playhouse production will be directed by Fairfield resident Hope Fitzgerald. The production will be produced under a Theatre for Young Audiences Equity contract.
