3rd Annual Holiday Concert featuring The Concert Society of Putnam & Northern Westchester, 7:30 pm, Trinity Episcopal Church, 30 Main Street, tickets $30 and must be purchased in advance (no ticket sales at door), Richard Serbagi will again direct performance, this year’s guest soloists are the soprano Maria Ferrante, the violinist Fernando Medina Caceres, and the violist Midhat Serbagi, program will include works of J.S. Bach, Schubert, Martini, Mozart, Schubert, also variations based on a Bach chorale composed by John Mastroianni, performance will be followed by gala reception, proceeds benefit Newtown Scholarship Association; 426-2500.

NUMC Monthly Pasta Dinner, 5–7:30 pm, Newtown United Methodist Church’s Rauner Hall, 92 Church Hill Road, admission $8 adults, $7 seniors, $3.50 children, full spaghetti dinner includes salad, desserts, and soft drinks/coffee raises funds each month for church, all welcome, coffee house/musical event follows; 426-0617.

Opening reception for “Cityscapes & Landscapes: Oils & Watercolors by Ruth Newquist,” 2–4 pm, C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, exhibition of SoHo street scenes and New England landscapes by the Newtown artist Ruth Newquist will remain on view until February 29; 426-4533.

Liz Carroll & John Doyle in concert, 8 pm, Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street, tickets $15 adults, $5 children, performance of traditional Irish music and song by Ms Carroll on fiddle and Mr Doyle on guitar, bouzouki, and vocals is presented by Shamrock Traditional Irish Music Society; 203-256-8453.
