Christmas Tree Pickups

Newtown Boy Scout Troop 270 is beginning to arrange pickups for its annual Christmas Tree Pickup.

This year the Scouts will be picking up trees on Saturdays, January 7 and 14. Residents are invited to contact the troop with questions, or to arrange for a pickup by sending an e-mail to Troop270@charter.net.

E-mails should include the homeowner’s name and the address from which the tree is to be picked up.

In addition to helping residents clear their homes of their trees, the event is a fundraiser for the troop. A $10 donation is requested for each tree. Residents will be asked to put a check made out to Boy Scout Troop 270 into an envelope and either attach it to the tree or tape it to a garage or front door.
