Newtown police, among other area police departments, will be continuing their seatbelt enforcement project, known as Click-It or Ticket, through Sunday, June 2.

The heightened seatbelt enforcement campaign started on May 20.

Newtown police will be joining with police from Bethel, Brookfield, Redding, and Ridgefield in conducting joint enforcement projects in those five towns.

While performing the seatbelt enforcement work, police also will be checking  for other obvious vehicular violations, such as motorists talking on handheld cellphones or sending text messages, plus other forms of distracted driving.
