Flagpole Photographers Planning Annual Show

The annual exhibit of The Flagpole Photographers at C.H. Booth Library will be Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11. The club expects to display more than 50 prints taken by the members at which awards will be presented. The exhibit will open to the public at noon Saturday.

Judging the event will be Bill Marcy, a well regarded amateur photographer of  Danbury and a past president of Candlewood Camera Club, and Carol Dupuis, a professional photographer from Watertown.

Awards will be made for first, second, third and honorable mention in the categories of Traditional, Digitally Enhanced (or altered reality), and Black and White.

Additional categories, for which there will be one award, are Best in Show, The Dave Kriger Nature Award, named in honor of the late acclaimed nature photographer; The Jeanette Talarino Flower Award, named for a late member of the club who was a noted flower photographer; and The Bruce Allen Open Print Award.

Each Flagpole member can exhibit six prints, any size up to 16 by 20 inches, three color and three black and white.
