'Favorite Year' In New Fairfield
âFavorite Yearâ In New Fairfield
NEW FAIRFIELD â Students at New Fairfield High School are currently in rehearsals for their spring musical production, My Favorite Year. The play will be presented April 28-May 6. Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings at 8 pm, and Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
Based on the hit motion picture starring Peter OâToole and Mark Lin-Baker, My Favorite Year takes place in 1954. Benji Stone, a freshman writer on TVâs King Kaiser Comedy Cavalcade, is assigned the daunting task of babysitting veteran Hollywood swashbuckler Alan Swann while Swann does a live guest appearance on the show.
The effort to keep the reckless Swann out of the papers during the rehearsal week nearly drives Benji to the brink before he is given an unexpected glimpse into Swannâs broken heart, which teaches him about human frailty, tragedy, comedy, love⦠and what made 1954 his favorite year.
All seats for My Favorite Year are reserved. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students, and can be reserved by calling 203/312-5864.
