FARMINGTON — Celebrate Women, the women’s health initiative of the University of Connecticut Health Center, will offer a variety of free programs for women this October.

“Adult Immunizations –– What is Needed, When and Why?” will take place on Monday, October 13. UConn Health Center expert in occupational medicine, Marcia Trapé, MD, will present important information about immunizations needed in adulthood from noon to 1 pm in the Faculty-Staff Dining Room at the UConn Health Center (use main hospital entrance).

“Early Warning Signs of Thyroid Dysfunction” will feature Beatriz Tendler, MD, from the health center’s division of endocrine neoplasia. She will discuss the symptoms and treatment options for thyroid disorders on Monday, October 27, from 6 to 7:30 pm, also in the Faculty-Staff Dining Room.

Celebrate Women holds a “Celebrate Menopause Group” on the second Monday of every month from 5:30 to 6:30 pm in the Charlotte Johnson Hollfelder Center for Women’s Health, off the main Health Center lobby. The next meeting will be on October 13.
