The Biblical Roots Of

Peace And Nonviolence

LITCHFIELD — The program “Peace, the Bible and Martin Luther King, Jr” will be held at Wisdom House Retreat and Conference Center from 9:30 am to 3 pm on Saturday, February 27.

The program will reflect upon the Biblical roots of peace and nonviolence as exemplified in the life and teachings of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr, and those who witness nonviolence today. Songs of peace and nonviolence will add to the inspiration of the day.

The program will be led by Victoria Christgau, Arthur Miller, and Richard Tarlaian.

Ms Christgau is founder and director of the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence, located in Litchfield. She has been a peace/arts educator for more than 25 years. Mr Miller is deacon, author, radio host, and director of the Office for Black Catholic Ministries for the Archdiocese of Hartford. Mr Tarlaian is a Kingian scholar and senior trainer for the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies at the University of Rhode Island and the Connecticut Center for Nonviolence.

Cost is $30, which includes lunch. Each participant may bring a friend for $15 payable with registration.
